Hello! My name is Jessica Lenhart and I am beyond excited to spend my 20th year in as a teacher at QISS! I was born just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived there until I graduated high school. After that, I attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and completed a pre-professional concentration in Elementary Education. In 1999, I moved to Las Vegas, NV to teach fourth grade, while I pursued my Master’s degree at UNLV in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on English as a Second Language. Upon completion of my Masters, I taught K-5 World Language (ESL) and served as a national trainer for Edison Schools. After seven years in the desert, I reconnected with a college sweetheart and moved to the Outer Banks, North Carolina. During my ten years with Dare County Schools, I taught in several school settings as both the sole classroom teacher and the ELL support teacher in grades K-12. I earned my National Board Certification in English as a New Language in 2014. This is my 3rd year at QISS and I love teaching here.
